Responsibilities:
Provide peer support and serve as an advocate for pregnant and postpartum women recovering from substance use.
Perform a wide variety of tasks to assist women in attaining and maintaining ongoing recovery focusing on employment, education, and recovery skills.
Educate participants on community supports, relapse prevention and recovery plans, and resources available.
Facilitate access to treatment, available community resources, and 12-Step information and locations.
Provide support to navigate access to health systems, community, and recovery resources.
Work with outside providers and referral sources to accept warm hand-offs of individuals and help to access recovery support services.
Qualifications:
High School diploma or GED required Certification as a Recovery Specialist and 1 year of D&A experience is a plus Experience in Maternal and Child Health a plus Experience working with diverse populations, communities, and organizations.
Strong interpersonal communication and organizational skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills CPR certification is required.
Child abuse clearances as mandated by PA Act 33 are required.
Valid driver's license required Basic computer, typing, and data entry skills with the ability to use Microsoft Office Suite.
Physical Requirements:
Able to sit and drive for lengthy periods of time to visit clients Able to carry and move supplies for visits up to 25lbs.
Will require fine motor skills for typing and writing notes and data entry The Foundation for Delaware County has the following mandates:
